According to records at the Colorado Climate Center at Colorado State University, Longmont’s snowiest winter in recorded history occurred in 1919-20, when 83.4 inches fell. Experts had previously thought the winter of 1979-80 was the snowiest, at 74.8 inches, but a search of the old records revealed new data.
