Media requests and training 

The CSU Communications team is available to provide support to any faculty or staff members who receive requests from journalists.

The team is also available to conduct in-person media training. A media 101 handout and video course are available on demand for CSU employees. 

Experts database 

CSU’s Find an Expert database provides an interactive tool for reporters to find faculty members who can share their expertise on current events.

Publicizing your work 

The CSU Communications team is available to help strategize the best solutions for broadly sharing the latest updates about research and what’s happening at the university. Some of our services include: 

  • The CSU Communications Toolkit, which provides resources for media relations, writing and reporting, search engine optimization and engaging with elected officials. 
  • Media advisories. 
  • News releases. 
  • Storytelling for CSU publications including SOURCE and STATE Magazine.
  • Support proactively pitching research to local and national publications. 
  • Assistance in pitching article ideas to The Conversation. 
  • Creation and distribution of multimedia assets. 
  • Monthly special projects highlighting multiple stories that showcase CSU’s expertise.
