Ricki Ginsberg is an associate professor of English Education specializing in censorship, diverse young adult literature and teacher preparation. Her research emphasizes educational equity with focus on supporting teachers with book censorship, reimagining literacy practices, and recruiting Indigenous teachers and teachers of color.
Ginsberg is currently leading a large national study on teachers’ perceptions of literature and censorship. Her scholarly articles, such as those in College Teaching and Reading Research Quarterly, delve into topics like facilitating collective action among students and using diverse texts to shift student perceptions of race and religion.
Ginsberg holds a B.S. and M.A. in English education and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Connecticut. She taught high school English for six years at Rockville High School in Connecticut before coming to CSU.
