Perry Cabot is a Colorado State University extension professor based at the Western Colorado Research Center, a unit that comprises the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Office of Engagement and Extension.  

His research program focuses on innovative irrigation technologies, sustainable water resources management, alternative cropping systems and crop consumptive use evaluation.  He is also the irrigation and water resources specialist for the CSU Office of Extension and Engagement in the Western Region of the state in the Upper Colorado River Basin. He leads and collaborates on numerous research efforts supported by federal, state and local agencies, as well as nonprofit charitable organizations 

Cabot received his Ph.D. in agricultural engineering and land resources from the University of Wisconsin Madison and his B.S. in civil engineering from Colorado State University.
