John Ritten is a livestock economist at Colorado State University and a member of the AgNext team.  

His research interests include the intersection of agricultural production and natural resource management, especially in relation to sustainability and system resiliency. 

He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arizona State University and went on to earn an MBA from New Mexico State University. Ritten received his Ph.D in natural resource economics from Colorado State University.   

Ritten has been published in Rangeland Ecology and Management, Invasive Plant Science and Management, Rangelands and more.
