Indrakshi Ray is a professor of computer science and director of the Cybersecurity Center at Colorado State University. Her work is centered around the real-world problems that exist in the cybersecurity realm, specifically attack prevention, detection and the resiliency of our critical infrastructure.
On the cyber-social side, Ray has studied phishing and misinformation detection. Her work also delves into the cognitive sides of cybersecurity – and specifically, how people’s biases can be used for designing secure systems.
Ray earned her Ph.D in information technology at George Mason University – which is considered one of the pioneering institutions in cybersecurity. Here, she was able to publish and present her work in the space in a topmost security conference, drawing her into the field.
She is the associate editor of IEEE Security & Privacy, and is a program committee member of numerous prestigious security conferences, including ACM Computer and Communications Security and the European Symposium of Research in Computer Security.
