Ann Little
Little specializes in the history of colonial America, with special emphasis on the history of women, gender and sexuality.
Little is the author of two award-winning books, “Abraham in Arms: War and Gender in Colonial New England” and “The Many Captivities of Esther Wheelwright.” She has held fellowships at the Newberry Library, the Huntington Library and the Massachusetts Historical Society, and is an elected member of the Council of the Omohundro Institute for Early American History and Culture.
Little has appeared on the TLC show “Who Do You Think You Are,” to help Tom Bergeron understand more about his French Canadian roots, and with Jean Smart ito discuss her ancestor who was an accused witch in Massachusetts in 1692. She is a popular guest on a number of podcasts and other media outlets.
Little earned her A.B. from Bryn Mawr College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
