About the Rocky Mountain Wildfire Smoke Symposium

This year’s meeting will run concurrently between the Mountain West Society of Toxicology and the Rocky Mountain Wildfire Smoke Symposium. Participants will have opportunities to attend career workshops, policy-based seminars, a poster session, and multiple networking events.

The Mountain West Regional Chapter of the Society of Toxicology is a professional and scholarly organization of scientists from academic institutions, government, and industry representing the great variety of scientists who practice toxicology in the US and abroad. The Mountain West chapter encompasses Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Southern Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

The Rocky Mountain Wildfire Smoke Symposium was launched in 2020 as a forum for the dissemination of knowledge with the goal of enhancing public and occupational health in the face of increasing wildfire activity. The exposure challenges and community dynamics of the Rocky Mountains are unique and thus researchers, government employees, industry personnel, and practitioners benefit from this region-specific forum.
