DENVER — Although colleges and universities usually compete to attract the best and the brightest students, Colorado’s leading business colleges have banded together to give more than 2,000 students and alumni the opportunity to introduce themselves to some of the nation’s largest corporations interested in hiring their graduates.
The outstanding pool of candidates has attracted more than 150 companies located not only in Colorado and the Mountain West but also from as far away as New York and San Francisco, companies that might not include the individual schools in their recruitment plans.
The numbers of companies and candidates are so large, the Colorado Business School Career Fair is being held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
The sponsors — Colorado State University College of Business, Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver and Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder — have also opened up this opportunity to business students from the University of Wyoming in Laramie and other Colorado colleges and universities that offer business programs: the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business, Metro State University, Mesa College, CU Denver and CSU Pueblo’s Hassan School of Business.
Fall is the big recruiting season for top firms. They attend all of the major career events around the country during September, and have been able to include the Colorado Business School Career Fair on their itinerary this year.
