CSU’s Office for Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement seeks CSUnity volunteers, projects

Colorado State University’s Office for Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement is currently recruiting volunteers and registering community projects for 2014 CSUnity, set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 5.

This spring marks the 17th year students will gather for the day of service in an effort to foster community engagement and help Fort Collins agencies and residents complete projects lacking in resources.

Services are provided to neighbors in the community; the City of Fort Collins, state, county and federal agencies; and local nonprofits. For local organizations, registered projects can be anything that needs to be accomplished at your place of business. For neighbors, projects must take place outside your residence, such as raking leaves, gardening, painting, or construction.

"It’s wonderful to hear the gratitude in the voices of neighbors as they speak about their past experiences with volunteers," said Kristy Aldridge, a volunteer special events coordinator at SLiCE. "The connections that students and community members form are the heart of this event."
