Visit Colorado State University at the Colorado State Fair

Colorado State University will host fun and educational opportunities during this year’s Colorado State Fair, Aug. 27-Sept. 6 in Pueblo. All activities are free and open to the public.

The university will unveil the Colorado State University Building at the State Fair. Inside the nearly 12,000-square-foot facility, CSU staff will feature displays and activities representing all three campuses (CSU, CSU-Pueblo, CSU-Global Campus); CSU’s statewide service agencies (Extension, Colorado State Forest Service, Agricultural Experiment Station); CSU and CSU-Pueblo Alumni Associations; CSU colleges and water expertise; Continuing Education; and many other programs. The facility, formerly the Natural Resources Building, is located on the Colorado Concourse just inside the Arroyo Avenue Gate 2 entrance.

A large portion of the space inside the Colorado State University Building will be dedicated to 4-H and youth activities, including the popular archery range. 4-H has been in Colorado for more than a century and serves as an educational program for the nation’s youth. Today, 4-H meets the needs of and engages young people in positive youth development experiences. 2010 marks the centennial of 4-H and a renewed commitment to helping shape youth and communities.

A CSU Day Alumni and Friends Mixer is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 31, outside the CSU Building at the Colorado State Fair Grounds. It will be a special day to mix and mingle with CSU alumni, CSU-Pueblo alumni, friends, and family members. There are several special events planned including:

  • 5-6:30 p.m. – BBQ and tour of the new Colorado State University Building at the Colorado State Fairgrounds.
  • 7 p.m. – CSU Night at the Rodeo.
