Internationally Known Real Estate Consultant to Speak at Colorado State’s Real Estate Quarterly Event March 23

International real estate consultant Steven P. Laposa will be the keynote speaker at the Everitt Real Estate Center’s quarterly event on March 23.

Laposa is national director of Global Strategic Real Estate Research at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, a major international accounting and consulting firm with offices worldwide.

He will talk about the future of real estate prices at the event, which will be at 8 a.m. at The Group Inc.’s Harmony office at 2803 E. Harmony Road in Fort Collins. A networking breakfast will start at 7:30 am. The event is free for members of the Everitt Real Estate Center and $35 for non-members who register before the event. Laposa has 20 years of project management and real estate development and research experience, including international experience in the Middle East, Europe and Africa. He consults on real estate litigation cases, future trends in real estate and applied use of statistical modeling to real estate and business issues. Laposa received his master’s in business administration from the University of Denver and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Reading.

Glenn Mueller, director of the Everitt Real Estate Center at Colorado State, has co-written numerous articles with Laposa, including "Rent Distributions Under Alternative Market Cycles and Economic Diversification" and "Do Metropolitan Statistical Areas’ Growth Rates Differ from their Region’s," which they presented at meetings of the American Real Estate Society.

The real estate center at Colorado State was established in 2000 within the Department of Finance and Real Estate and received its first support from the Mortgage Bankers Association. The center was expanded in 2005 thanks to a $2.4 million gift from the Everitt family and Everitt Companies.

The mission of the center is to provide service, academic foundation, research and educational and employment opportunities to the community, faculty, alumni, and students.
