Colorado State University Presents Student Apparel Design Show, Â??fusion: a Synthesis of Style’

Colorado State University’s Department of Design and Merchandising proudly presents its annual student apparel design show, "Fusion: A Synthesis of Style," at 7 p.m. March 27-28 in the Lory Student Center Main Ballroom on campus.

The cost of tickets is $6 for students and $12 for non-students. Tickets can be purchased at the Colorado State Campus Box Office or at the door on the nights of the show.

"Fusion: A Synthesis of Style" is the runway presentation of original apparel lines  created by 24 students in the senior capstone course in the department’s apparel design and production concentration. Designs range from snowboard apparel to wedding dresses and theatrical costumes, demonstrating the diverse talent of the student designers. The show represents a collage of individual design styles and is presented through the collaborative efforts of apparel and merchandising students with expertise in event planning and promotion.

Colorado State’s College of Applied Human Sciences offers the only four-year degree program in apparel design and production in the state of Colorado and provides students with a strong foundation in market research, textile and garment design, pattern and sample production, costing and sales presentation.

The program ensures students’ mastery of LECTRA, the leading computer-aided design software used in the industry today, and imparts students with invaluable industry experience through participation in study tours and professional internships.
