Colorado State University has emerged as a leader in environmental research, with expertise in climate and global change, quality of air and water, water resource availability and management, terrestrial ecosystem science and land-use change.

Colorado State will host a universitywide colloquium on environmental research to showcase the highlights of these research activities and to facilitate interactions among investigators and other interested parties. The colloquium will run from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 9-10 at the University Park Holiday Inn, 425 W. Prospect Road.

The colloquium is designed to:

– provide an overview of the myriad environmental research activities ongoing at Colorado State and along the northern Front Range,

– help foster new collaborations and the partnering of research disciplines or integration of new technology.

Session topics include observations of recent climate change, air pollution in the national parks and the visitor experience, the university’s role in developing and disseminating air quality solutions, and emerging issues in drinking water quality, as well as panels on advanced technology requirements for environmental modeling and analysis and growth and sustainability along the Front Range.

The colloquium is open for interested participants in the sciences, social sciences and humanities as well as individuals from private companies who are interested in learning about the research. Visit www.vprit.colostate.edu for more information or to register.
