Author of ‘cadillac Desert’ Keynote Speaker at Colorado State’s Third Annual Student Water Symposium

Marc Reisner, author of "Cadillac Desert," will be keynote speaker at Colorado State University’s third annual Student Water Symposium. The Nov. 3-5 symposium, held on campus in Lory Student Center, features presentations on water-related research by both graduate and undergraduate students from a variety of departments at Colorado State.

Reisner, who wrote about the American West’s romance with dams and aqueducts and the artificial paradise and ecological disasters they have created, will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Lory Student Center Theatre. Admission is $2 for the public and free to those with a Colorado State identification card.

Reisner, whose work was made into a four-hour documentary that aired on public television two years ago, is a consultant to the Institute for Fisheries Resources, the American Farmland Trust and the Nature Conservancy.

Student oral and poster presentations will be made throughout the symposium in Room 213-215 in the student center. For more information and a schedule of events, visit the symposium’s Web site at http://lamar.colostate.edu/~watersym/ or call (970) 491-1141.
