Denver Post: Dan West, entomologist for the Colorado State Forest Service and a member of the faculty at Colorado State University, spent most of the past two months flying over the state’s 24 million acres of forest. The main purpose of his annual aerial observation tour is to assess forest health, but it also gives him a unique perspective to forecast the quality of fall foliage colors.
