Mark Winokur
Winokur is the director of the Social Work Research Center. His work focuses on child welfare, kinship care, foster care, residential placements, adoption, family preservation services, juvenile sex offender treatment, trauma screening, and risk and safety assessment in child protective services.
Winokur has 14 years of applied research experience in child welfare that has influenced policies, practices, and procedures at the international, federal, state, and county levels.
Winokur taught a research methods course to incoming master’s of social work students for several years, and he continues to serve as chair and methodologist on M.S.W. and Ph.D. research committees for the CSU School of Social Work.
Winokur received his B.A. in English from the University of Michigan in 1990. He earned his M.Ed in instructional leadership from CSU in 2000, and his Ph.D. in education and human resource studies, also from CSU, in 2004.
