Frank Dinenno
Dinenno, director of the Human Cardiovascular Physiology Lab, researches the effects of aging and lifestyle factors on overall cardiovascular structure and function.
He focuses on the control of vascular tone during various stressors and, specifically, understanding how the sympathetic nervous system and “local” factors interact to control vascular tone and muscle blood flow, how these interactions are altered with aging, and how regular physical activity impacts on these control mechanisms.
Dinenno received his B.S. in exercise science from the University of Arizona in 1996. He then studied cardiovascular physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder, earning his M.S. in 1998 and his Ph.D. in 2000.
