Dr. Dean Hendrickson is an equine surgeon at the Johnson Family Equine Hospital, whose areas of expertise center around equine wound care, minimally invasive surgery and lameness.

Hendrickson is the founder and president of SurgiReal and the co-creator of its artificial skin product for surgical students to practice on. He was named one of Colorado State University’s best teachers in 2018.

Hendrickson earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at CSU in 1988 and is a professor of equine surgery at the Johnson Family Equine Hospital. He is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
