CSU TRAFFIC AND EVENT ADVISORY: LARGE EVENTS ON MAIN CAMPUS SEPT. 18

Fort Collins, Colo. – Three events taking place on campus, in addition to normal operations, will create increased traffic on and around the CSU main campus in the afternoon and evening of Sept. 18.
As a public institution, CSU is legally required to uphold and protect the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This includes providing space for varied viewpoints to be expressed. More information can be found on CSU’s First Amendment website.
SEPT. 18 EVENT INFORMATION
- 5:30–6:30 p.m.: Event hosted by Turning Point USA and the student chapter at CSU – Canvas Stadium
- 6 p.m.: CSU Volleyball game vs. University of Colorado – Moby Arena
- 6:30-8:30 p.m.: Event hosted by National Ground Game and the Political Review CSU student organization – Lory Student Center Ballroom (note this event was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. and the time has changed)
PARKING ON CAMPUS
Individuals coming to campus are encouraged to plan and allow extra travel time. Parking may be limited, and normal parking regulations are in effect. Event attendees are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternative transportation, such as the Max bus line. Normal paid parking rates and hours remain in effect across campus, and parking in residence hall lots is not permitted.
- Canvas Stadium event: Those attending the TPUSA event at Canvas Stadium should reach campus by taking the Prospect exit off I-25, enter campus from Prospect Street (south side of campus) and park at the Lake Street Parking Garage, 1508 Center Ave., or the South College Parking Garage, 121 W. Pitkin St.
- Streets surrounding Canvas Stadium will be closed to through traffic.
- Moby volleyball game: The Moby parking lot (west side of campus) is reserved for volleyball game attendees. Parking passes are required for this lot.
- Lory Student Center event: Those attending the Political Review event at the Lory Student Center should reach campus via the Mulberry exit off I-25 and park in the Engineering Parking Lot, 711 Oval Dr. (off Laurel Street; north side of campus).
ENTRY AND SAFETY INFORMATION
Game-day protocols will be in place for the three events held on CSU’s campus on the evening of September 18. This includes security screening at entry, a clear-bag policy, and no firearms on campus (per state law).
All attendees should review CSU game-day protocols, which will be in place for all events and requires clear bags for entry; a list of permitted items is available on the website.
For safety updates texted directly to you, text CSURAMS to 888777. All safety messages will be posted to CSU’s safety website.
CSU is working with local, state, and federal law enforcement to provide secure facilities. Call or text 911 in the event of an emergency. Emergency response teams will be on site and prepared to assist.
NO WEAPONS, TOBACCO-FREE
Please note the following state rules that apply to the CSU campus, which include no weapons and no tobacco products at CSU.
- Weapons policy: Colorado law as of July 1, 2024, prohibits a person from carrying a firearm, both openly and concealed, in a government building including on public university campuses.
- Tobacco-free university: Vaping, non-nicotine vaping, and the use of tobacco, including smoking, chewing, and e-cigarettes, are not allowed on any CSU grounds or in buildings, in compliance with the 2018 governor’s executive order.
