Details
More than 6,500 students are expected to arrive on the Colorado State University campus next week. Move-in to the residence halls will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19 and Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025. The first day of classes for the Fall Semester is Monday, Aug. 25.
The university is set to welcome a large incoming first-year class, which is anticipated to include the highest number of in-state students in a decade. Durward Hall will reopen this August with 506 beds after undergoing a year-long renovation. The reopening of Durward adds more than 100 beds to CSU’s residential inventory compared to last year, ensuring that all incoming residents will receive on-campus assignments. All dining centers will be operational during move-in.
Media opportunities
- Student eco-leaders who can talk about second-hand dorm room essentials and how you can be sustainable while preparing for your first year of college.
- Student move-in at Durward, Westfall, Corbett and Parmalee Halls with families, students and move-in volunteers.
- The Foundry, Durrell and Ram’s Horn Dining Centers as students return to campus.
- Limited interviews with CSU President Amy Parsons.
Ram Welcome
Ram Welcome, an event for new students and their families, also begins on Tuesday, August 19. A full schedule of events can be found at ramwelcome.colostate.edu.
As the Class of 2029 starts their first week at Colorado State University, they will be welcomed by alumnus Stephen Brackett of the alternative hip-hop group the Flobots as part of the weeklong Ram Welcome celebration.
Brackett’s visit — during which he will serve as the keynote speaker at the annual Convocation ceremony for first-year students — is just one of more than 40 scheduled events and activities during Ram Welcome, CSU’s orientation experience for new students. Convocation is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22, at 11:30 a.m. in Moby Arena.
In addition to Brackett, students will hear from CSU President Amy Parsons as well as student and faculty leaders about strategies for success at CSU.
