The Colorado State University Spur campus is always the place to be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the Second Saturday of the month, and the April edition is going to be extra special.

That’s thanks to a special visit from Miles, who you might know as the mascot for the Denver Broncos. He’ll be on campus from 11 a.m. to noon on April 12, and is up to meet all of his adoring fans!

Miles’ appearance is part of this Second Saturday’s larger theme of Health and Wellness, and in addition to the facetime with this Denver legend, visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a host of interactive activities throughout the day in all three of Spur’s buildings. A bonus? Everything is free and open to the public, so bring your entire family.

Here’s a sampling of what you can do this Second Saturday:

  • Meet Spur’s adorable mini horses on the second floor of the Vida building.
  • Learn how to tie fishing flies with Trout Unlimited in the Hydro building.
  • Get your hands dirty and learn about watersheds at the interactive stream table.
  • Paint your own mini pot and learn about wildflowers with the Future Farmers of America.
  • Learn what it’s like to be a food scientist at the CSU Spur Food Innovation Center by developing your own Italian ice flavor. You might even get a “golden ticket” for an exclusive tour through the Terra building’s chocolate lab.
  • Sample delicious foods made from insects and learn why these creepy crawlies are actually a decent food source.
  • Join CSU’s Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology Department to learn all about microbes and the role they play in our world through a special activity involving handprints and microscopes.
  • Experience a virtual reality demonstration on the first floor of Vida.
  • And so much more!
