Move-in for the 2021 Fall Semester at Colorado State University will be held the week of Aug. 16, with designated residence hall move-in days Monday, Aug. 16–Wednesday, Aug. 18. Monday is predicted to be the busiest day, with about 2,545 hall residents currently registered to move in that day alone.

New students and families are encouraged to participate in Ram Welcome when they arrive. A schedule of events is available at ramwelcome.colostate.edu.

Details

While the university originally anticipated lower occupancy rates and planned to keep a few residential facilities closed in 2021-2022 to reflect those predictions, CSU has seen enrollment rise over the summer and is now predicted to open at 100% capacity in residence halls and over 90% capacity in apartments. All of the university’s residence halls and apartments will be open for the Fall 2021 semester.

It’s anticipated that 6,150 students will move into CSU’s residence halls, and university apartments will house about 2,580 residents (including students and their families).

University projects and upgrades

Over the summer, solar arrays were installed atop two residence halls (Piñon and Alpine), bringing the total number of solar systems to six, with several other installations planned across campus in 2022.

Housing & Dining Facilities work completed over the summer included various equipment updates, painting, lighting and flooring updates.

COVID-related policies and planning

The university’s four on-campus dining centers will allow 100% capacity with dine-in seating and self-service station options. Several to-go options also will continue to be provided, including a new online ordering and pick-up system operated through Grubhub.

Detailed and frequent cleanings of residential spaces and dining centers will continue to be conducted this academic year. Housing & Dining Services will adhere to the most up-to-date public health and CSU guidance, including the requirement for all faculty, staff and students to wear masks indoors (excluding residents in their own room/apartment).

Designated quarantine/isolation spaces have been set aside for hall and apartment residents who may need them.

The university announced new vaccine, screening and mask mandates for Fall 2021 on Aug. 11.
