Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Colorado State University Comes to the Rescue – Students, Alumni and Friends to Participate in Denver Volunteer Projects, April 17

What/when:

Alumni and friends in the Denver metro area will work on 19 volunteer projects around the Denver area on Saturday, April 17, as part of CSUnity – an event that involves one day of service, community, leadership and Ram pride. There are projects happening around the state and nation.

Volunteers will do everything from yard maintenance and painting walls to serving meals. Denver projects include:
• Prepping and serving lunch – Denver Rescue Mission, 1130 Park Ave. West, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Filling client orders – Food Bank of the Rockies, 10700 E. 45th Ave., 8:30 a.m.-Noon
• Cleaning kennels, indoor and outdoor maintenance, customer service, and general facility organization/upkeep – Max Fund, 1025 Galapago St., 9 a.m.-Noon
• Working with students from Manual High School and Volunteers of America to pull weeds and perform facility organization/maintenance at Manual, 1700 E. 28th Ave., 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Background:

CSUnity in Denver is sponsored by the Denver office of the Colorado State University Alumni Association and the Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement (SLiCE) Office. The day is intended to connect with Colorado State alumni and friends, support community, make a difference in the lives of others and show pride for being a Ram.
