Colorado State University Associate Professor Receives Service Award from Agronomy Society

Neil Hansen, associate professor of soil science at Colorado State University, has been awarded the 2006 Syngenta Crop Protection Recognition Award, presented at the American Society of Agronomy annual meetings held in conjunction with the Crop Science Society of America and Soil Science Society of America on Nov. 12-16 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Hansen’s research is focused on soil and water conservation in both dryland and irrigated crop production systems. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. Hansen teaches the senior capstone course in soil and crop management at Colorado State, advises graduate students and has achieved success in both research and outreach programs. He serves as associate editor for "Soil Science Society of America Journal."

The Syngenta Crop Protection Recognition Award is awarded to an individual with outstanding service to the agronomic profession. The award is administered by ASA and supported through a contribution by Syngenta to the Agronomic Science Foundation.
