Media Alert: Colorado State University Partners with Daniels Fund in Providing Scholarships for At-Risk Students

Colorado State University System officials will participate in a press conference at 3 p.m. on May 24 at the Daniels Fund, 101 Monroe St. in Denver, for the announcement of the 2004 Daniels Opportunity Awards, an innovative partnership to get scholarship funding into the hands of non-traditional students at risk of not being able to afford a college education.

Awards will be used to support non-traditional students such as adults pursuing education later in life, GED recipients, transfer students and foster care children.

For more than 125 years, Colorado State University has been fulfilling the needs of citizens through its land-grant mission of teaching, research and service. Today, Colorado State’s eight colleges encompass the major areas of human knowledge with 150 programs of study–many nationally and internationally recognized–in the sciences, the arts, the humanities and the professions.

The university’s 25,000 students come from all 50 states and 80 countries providing variety that broadens the educational experience for all students in an atmosphere that encourages cultural exchange and an appreciation and respect for diversity.

The Daniels Fund oversees the Daniels College Prep and Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah.
