"It is a pleasure to have Professor Chang join our department at Colorado State University," said Alana Minor, director of publicity for the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. "His prestigious, world-renowned performances and choreography are perfect examples of our improving excellence as a school of art."
Born in Taiwan, Chang began his career in 1986 dancing professionally with the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan and the Kaohsiung Contemporary Dance Company for six years. After moving to the United States, Chang worked as a guest artist with the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, Dance Brazil and the National Ballet Company.

Chang received his master’s degree in dance from the University of California at Irvine, where he was the recipient of the Chancellor Fellowship, and his bachelor’s degree from The Boston Conservatory. He was awarded numerous scholarships including the Walter Terry Memorial Full Scholarship at Harvard University Summer Dance Center and a full scholarship for the Jacob’s Pillow Choreography Workshop.
