Colorado State Inaugural Â??art from the Heart: Upping the Bid for Social Changeâ?� Event Will Auction Well Known Bands Oct. 3
Colorado State University’s inaugural auction, "Art from the Heart: Upping the Bid for Social Change," will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Museum of Contemporary Art at 201 S. College in Fort Collins.
The event, sponsored by The Sutherland Family Foundation, Mark Keller from ReMax Advanced and New Belgium Brewery, will include live music, local food, wine and beer and the chance to meet and bid on the work of many well known visual artists and musicians.
The silent auction will run from 5-8 p.m. and live auction will begin at 8 p.m. During the silent auction, guests will have the opportunity to listen to CDs and bid on personal performances of live music on the date and location of the bidder’s choice. Band performances to be auctioned include Liz Barnez and Friends, Pamela Robinson, John Magnie and the 3 Twins, The Atoll, Lallah Roohkh, Gregory Long, among others.
Works of art to be auctioned include watercolors, oil paintings, sculptures, pottery, and more. Some of the artists bidders may choose from include Darrell Anderson, Bruce Gueswel, Daniel Glanz, Patrick Fahey, Peter Jacobs, Sibyl Stork, Ron McDowell and Linda Naylor.
Proceeds of the event will benefit the Office for Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs at Colorado State, which is dedicated to bringing about social change through programs and events that create partnerships between students and the community.
