Innovative New Science Initiatives from Colorado State University Featured at Â??life Science Thursday’ in Longmont

Life Science Thursday, a series of educational and networking events held quarterly for senior management in the life science industry, will host a presentation from leading members of the academic community at Colorado State University on Sept. 11 at the Raintree Plaza Conference Center in Longmont. Life Science Thursday is presented by the Longmont Area Economic Council and the Colorado Biotechnology Association.

Experts from Colorado State will present the following topics at Thursday’s meeting:

     Introduction and Overview of University Research Emphasis, by Tony Frank, vice president for Research and Information Technology;

     Research in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, by Lance Perryman, dean, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science;

     Opportunities in Tuberculosis Vaccines and Therapeutics, by Ian Orme, a professor in Colorado State’s Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology;

     Emerging Issues in Vector Borne Viral Diseases Including West Nile Virus, by Carol Blair, also a professor in Colorado State’s Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology;

     New CSU Approaches to Technology Transfer Partnerships by Arundeep Pradhan, director of Technology Transfer, Colorado State University Research Foundation, and Hunt Lambert, director, Center for Entrepreneurship, College of Business.
