Farm and ranch managers are invited to attend the fourth annual Three-State Cow/Calf College.

Scheduled for June 2-6 at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis, the college is sponsored by Cooperative Extension Integrated Resource Management Programs at Colorado State University, the University of Nebraska and Kansas State University.

Economic and production topics to be discussed include:

  • low-cost production practices;
  • record keeping;
  • marketing alternatives;
  • range and pasture management;
  • herd-health management; and
  • cow/calf nutrition, genetics and reproduction.

The college also will include hands-on workshops, grass identification, ration formulation, cattle selection, veterinary labs, feedlot and grazing tours.

The schedule is flexible, so participants can attend any day or all five days. Registration is $40 to $60 per day, which includes two meals and a notebook of reference materials. Other meals and lodging are available at low costs. Deadline for registration is May 20.
